MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Secretary Food Authority Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has banned several products of ‘Nice Food Industry’ across the state and imposed a hefty fine for its substandard quality.
According to the order issued on Friday, the National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad report declared the company’s two products — Tasto Chill munch snacks and Tasto Hot bite snacks— substandard on quality and safety parameters.
Furthermore, the company also lacked any license from the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Food Authority.
Following all aforementioned violations, the food safety offer Azad Kashmir imposed a fine of Rs1,00,000 on the company for violating Section 28 (Unsafe Food) and Section 33 (Business without license) of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Food Authority Act, 2017.
In addition, a ban has been imposed on the sale of all these products (Tasto Chill munch snacks and Tasto Hot bite snacks) within Azad Kashmir. The order has directed all the food safety officers to test other products of the company and send report to the Secretary Food Authority.
