PATIKKA (Kashmir English): To promote safety and well-being for all, the Food Authority regularly inspects food items for sale in markets.
Recently, the mobile laboratory team paid a visit to Patikka to check oil and ghee samples from bakeries, hotels and food outlets.
During the operations, the team obtained substantial amounts of adulterated and unregistered oil, which was seized by the food authority.
Furthermore, the team destroyed some contaminated spices and imposed hefty fines on those who violated the regulations.
The operation took place under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Patikka Chaudhry Iqbal Hassan and District Food Controller Engineer Abrar Ahmed Mir.
The Food Authority’s actions are part of a wider initiative to regulate food safety and compliance with standards in markets.
Food inspection in other markets and towns has also occurred. The Food Authority is trying to protect consumers from chemically altered and unsafe products.
