MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): A security alert in Azad Kashmir has been issued following reports of five terrorists entering through the Azad Pattan route, and it has been decided to enhance security for the President, Prime Minister, and former Prime Ministers.

According to details, intelligence suggests that five terrorists have infiltrated Azad Kashmir via Azad Pattan, raising concerns that they may be involved in terrorist activities. Reports indicate that two of these terrorists are young and could potentially be suicide bombers. The group apparently seeks to conduct terrorist operations with potential objectives in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s sensitive areas.

Military bases together with government offices and police forces face risk as well as former prime ministers who constitute possible targets for attackers.

The relevant agencies continue their protective operations under detailed instructions to monitor the situation and execute needed safety measures. The rise in security measures and elevated threat levels by security forces exist to block possible malicious occurrences.

According to security protocol, all checkpoints in addition to intelligence agencies have received the photographs and identification data of three terrorists to support quick identification and prompt action.

Security forces are closely monitoring the situation and implementing all necessary measures.

Senior Minister Colonel (R) Waqar Noor met former Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider to brief him on the security concerns. It has also been decided that the security of former Prime Ministers Sardar Atiq Khan and Sardar Yaqoob Khan should be enhanced.

Speaking to Kashmir Digital, Senior Minister Waqar Noor confirmed the security threats in Azad Kashmir and verified his late-night meeting with the former prime minister.

An alert has been issued over the terrorists’ infiltration into Azad Kashmir, and a decision to enhance security for political leadership and sensitive areas in the region has been made as well. Especially after the unfortunate attack in Balochistan, the alert is being seen as a major threat to the peace of the lands of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
