MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Municipal Corporation Muzaffarabad has denied rumors regarding the encroachment of Tali Mandi/Bela Noor Shah to facilitate business.

Earlier, Opposition Leader Khawaja Khawaja Farooq Ahmed wrote a letter to the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir against illegal occupation in Neelum Park, located in Bela Noor Shah area of the capital city.

The citizens also wrote a letter to the district administration against the construction of shops in the premises of the land, allotted for the park.

However, the Municipal Corporation spokesperson issued a press release today, stating that the corporation has itself allocated space for setting up a market at various places in the city including that in Bela Noor Shah/Tali Mandi.

The land was allotted at Chattar, Chehla, Gharipan, and Tali Mandi to set up ‘Sasta Ramadan Bazars’ for the convenience of the public.

“Permits were issued to the businessmen and the market was allowed to be set up only during the month of Ramadan,” the press release said.

The municipal corporation, on the recommendation of the district administration set up the bazar at Tali Mandi area.

The already established ‘Rehri Bazars’ at Neelum Pull, Hyderi Bazar, and Bus Stand were causing inconvenience for pedestrians and travelers.

The spokesperson said that since last month, various political and civil groups have been expressing concerns regarding the encroachment of the area, but the concerns have no truth.

The use of the existing space for ‘rehri bazars’ and removal of encroachment on Neelum bridge and Hyderi Bazar was widely accepted and praised by the public.

“The permission for the ‘sasta ramadan bazar’ is only up to 30th Ramadan,” the spokesperson said.
