MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The POS Task Force closed the various outlets of national brands in Mirpur for not complying with the AJK POS system.
On the directions of the Commissioner Inland Revenue, the task force, along with Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue Mahmood Alam, inspected the various business stores across the city.
According to the officials, the aim of this move is to ensure transparent collection of sales tax and timely transfer to the government treasury.
The receipt issued under the AJK POS system is a guarantee that the sales tax collected from the consumer is being deposited in the government treasury.
“Strict legal action will be taken against those who evade tax through fake receipts,” the press statement from the Inland Revenue said.
“The public has been appealed to avoid shopping from there until these branches come on the POS system and shop only from those shops that issue official POS receipts,” the statement read.
