MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has implemented the latest AJK Point-of-Sale (POS) Invoicing System at five more major business stores/brands located in Mirpur and Muzaffarabad districts.
According to a press release issued by the Inland Revenue Department, the AJK POS Invoicing System was installed at well-known brands including Diner, ECS, MTJ, Sapphire and NDURE.
Earlier, the Inland Revenue Department in collaboration with Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited had successfully activated the latest invoicing system at famous business stores including Khaadi, KFC, Al-Karam, Ideas, J. and ETHNC.
Furthermore, the press release stated that Commissioner Inland Revenue Syed Ansar Ali has formed special task forces to continuously monitor all these stores to ensure that no store or food chain does offline invoicing and will ensured that the proposed logo of AJK POS Invoicing System, QR Code and proposed invoice number of IR are recorded on each invoice.
“The performance of the Special Task Forces is being monitored by the Deputy Commissioners of the Inland Revenue Department themselves so that there is no violation and timely recovery of revenue is possible,” it added.
According to the spokesperson, the technical team of the Inland Revenue Department is continuously working to implement the AJK POS Invoicing System on more brands and business stores and Tier-1 retailers in the coming days. This latest system will be implemented on all relevant business outlets as per the intent and purpose of the law, he added.
Earlier in February, the AJK government introduced the POS Invoicing System through the collaboration between Pakistan Revenue Automation (Pvt) Ltd (PRAL) and the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) AJK. The system deployment began at Khaadi and KFC in Mirpur.
The initiative supports the government’s approach to digitalising economic transactions by establishing instant business documentation and by introducing the POS system in AJK to curb issues like tax evasion.
