ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Massive traffic congestion was reported on the GT Road at Sangjani after the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi-led convoy blocked the road from both sides.
According to reports, traffic remained suspended for several hours, leaving thousands of commuters stranded on major routes leading towards Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Political opponents criticized Sohail Afridi, accusing him of creating inconvenience for the public through repeated protest demonstrations and road blockades.
They said that CM KP has now blocked the main highway at Sangjani after he failed to find any public interest in their repeated Adiala jail dramas.
The opponents said that his own government is the epitome of corruption, security failure, and nepotism, and he is blocking roads and making public life miserable for TikTok clips and media attention.
Earlier today, a massive traffic jam hit the Islamabad entry point after the convoy of Chief Minister KP Sohail Afridi was stopped near the federal capital.
Long queues of vehicles stretching nearly 10 kilometers were reported on the motorway leading into Islamabad, leaving commuters stranded for hours.
The Chief Minister insisted on using the GT Road to reach Adiala Jail. Islamabad Police maintained that the convoy should use the Chakri Interchange route, which directly connects to Adiala Jail.
Travelers complained of long delays and difficulties due to the blockage, while traffic police attempted to divert vehicles to alternative routes. The situation created chaos for passengers entering Islamabad from the motorway side.
