LAHORE (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday formed a high-level committee on the issue of One-Constitution Avenue (OCA), a few hours after the district administration took control of a multi-storey building.
The action came after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) upheld the Capital Development Authority (CDA) decision to cancel the lease of OCA due to a multi-billion-rupee default.
According to the handout issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazir Tarar will head the committee, which will include Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the Secretary of the Cabinet, and the Secretary of Commerce.
The committee will review the entire matter in the next week and submit a comprehensive report to the Prime Minister.
The PM Office further said that during this time, any affected person in this matter will be able to present his/her objections to the committee, and the committee will listen to the parties and affected persons without any discrimination.
“No action will be taken by the Islamabad administration and CDA until the Prime Minister takes a final decision on this matter,” it added.
The Prime Minister has issued instructions to form a special committee to fulfill the requirements of justice in the One-Constitution Avenue matter.
