KARACHI (Kashmir English): A western weather system is likely to hit the country between March 25 and 28, with its effects expected to be more obvious in Balochistan, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
It warned that the system is expected to enter the province via Iran, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall to the area.
According to Anjum Nazir Zaigham, Deputy Director of the Karachi Meteorological Department, the weather system will also affect Sindh, including Karachi, where strong winds and heavy rain are likely.
Clear weather in Karachi
The weather in Karachi remained clear on Monday, with bright sunshine. Over the next two days (Tuesday and Wednesday), the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy, with daytime temperatures likely to stay between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius.
Temperatures across the country remained above normal in February and March while the higher-than-normal temperatures tend to increase the intensity and variability of weather patterns in the coming days.
Furthermore, rain with thunder is also expected in several districts of rural Sindh, including Larkana, Qambar Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Naushahro Feroze and Dadu.
Rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, lashed several parts of Karachi on the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr. The downpour turned the festive morning into a wet and chaotic affair, forcing many residents to change their plans as movement became difficult in several city areas.
