MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmir Information Minister Maulana Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah strongly condemned Indian occupying forces for confiscating both Islamic and historical books and Kashmiri properties in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to the minister, he expressed serious worry because Indian extremist forces planned to eliminate the historical and cultural heritage of Kashmir and such malevolent plans would fail to achieve their objectives.
The Minister noted that since August 5, 2019, when India unlawfully took control, India has consistently deployed repressive policies aimed at Kashmiri Muslims. According to Kejjia, the Indian government has applied the RSS extremist agenda by implementing religious curricula into school education systems. According to him this move aimed to wipe away Muslim identity while perverting historical facts to misguide the Kashmiri youth.
Shah explained that India continued to strive for demographic change and identity elimination of Kashmir after their attempts at suppressing the freedom movement through violent tactics had proved unsuccessful. The existence of India’s dark schemes would be stopped because of Allah’s divine protection according to his prediction.
The AJK Minister asked international human rights bodies and organizations to understand India’s current vicious activities which threaten the peace of IIOJK. The minister emphasized that India served as the primary instigator of regional terrorism while its oppressive measures endangered entire regional stability.
The campaign for Kashmiri freedom and justice will persist according to Maulana Shah despite India’s persistent attempts to silence Kashmiri activists. The religious leader urged worldwide intervention to force India to answer for its activities against Kashmir.
The Foreign Ministry in Islamabad expressed that it was “the latest step in a series of measures to crush dissent and to intimidate the local people”. Spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan stated: “They must be given freedom to read the books of their choice.”
“These books were found to violate legal regulations, and strict action is being taken against those found in possession of such material,” the police statement said, adding that the searches were carried out “to prevent the circulation of banned literature linked to Jamaat-e-Islami.”
The raids infuriated the party’s supporters. According to Shamim Ahmed Thokar, “the confiscated books encourage good moral values and responsible citizenship.” Sharing similar sentiments Mirwaiz Umar Farooq stated “It is absurd to crack down on Islamic literature and confiscate it from bookshops,”.
Recently, A grand Kashmir Solidarity Conference was held in Brescia, Italy, by Tehreek-e-Kashmir Europe to expose India’s state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and support the Kashmiri right to self-determination, with prominent leaders urging political activism and global action against illegal settlements.
