PM signs Gaza Board of Peace Charter
In a groundbreaking move, the Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, and other world leaders on Thursday signed the ‘Board of Peace‘ charter headed by United States President Donald Trump in Davos.
On this occasion, the heads of several countries, including Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif, signed the agreement and expressed their commitment to cooperate in establishing peace. The Gaza Board of Peace was initially envisioned as a mechanism to address Israel’s war on Gaza, though its charter does not restrict its mandate solely to the occupied Palestinian territory.
Addressing the ceremony, US President Donald Trump said that he would continue to work with the United Nations and other countries on the Peace Board and that the ongoing war in Gaza is coming to an end soon. He stressed that Hamas must be disarmed or it will be eliminated.
The US President also mentioned the risk of a possible war between Pakistan and India and said that both are nuclear countries, and US intervention helped stop the conflict between the two. He added that in the last ten months, eight wars have been stopped around the world, talks were held with the Syrian President, and all sanctions on Syria have been lifted.
Sharif praised the US President’s efforts and said that the lives of one or two crore people have been saved due to this intervention. He termed the steps taken by the world leadership for peace as an important step towards saving human lives and reducing tensions in the region.
Trump also expressed his willingness to hold talks with Iran on this occasion and announced that he would continue to make every possible effort to establish lasting peace in the Middle East. He stressed to world leaders that joint efforts and cooperation are essential for establishing peace.
This Peace Board event is being seen as a significant effort by the world leadership to establish peace, and it is being closely monitored at the global level. In addition to Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Hungary, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Bahrain, Morocco, Armenia, Argentina, Kosovo, Paraguay, Mongolia, Azerbaijan and Bulgaria also signed the charter of accession.
