MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Kashmir government on Friday announced a new fee schedule for the registration and issuance of certificates related to birth, death, residence, and other matters across the state.
According to the notification issued by the Local Government and Rural Development Department, the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has approved the new fee rates in light of the AJK Cabinet decision under the Section 66 of AJK Local Government Act, 1990.
As per the new schedule, birth and death registration will remain free of cost, while nominal fees have been fixed for executive certificates, duplicate certificates, amendments, and verifications.
The notification said that the issuance of birth and death certificates will cost Rs 200. The government will charge Rs 300 for the issuance of duplicate birth and death certificates and amendment certificates for both birth and death.
In addition to that, the certificate of Consent of Spouses for Second Marriage will be issued at Rs 500. The issuance of a certificate for business and unemployment will cost Rs 200. Family Relationship Certificate, Temporary Residence Certificate, and Guardian Certificate will each be issued for Rs 200.
The notification added that the new fee schedule has come into effect immediately.
