ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been facing a severe financial crisis as the party has directed its parliamentarians to make a contribution on a monthly basis to continue its activities.
The party, in a letter, directed its Members of the National Assembly, Senators, and provincial lawmakers (MPAs) to contribute 10 per cent of their monthly emoluments to the party fund to help meet organisational costs.
The letter further added that “the monthly figure for each MNA /Senator & MPA is RS. 50,000/-based on a monthly emolument and allowances or 10% whichever is higher.”
“The arrears due from each MNA/Senator & MPA since this decision was taken would be separately communicated,” it added.
According to Sources, lawmakers have been urged to complete the payment on an emergency basis within 72 hours due to the seriousness of the financial crunch.
“This is once again an urgent request as we are not able to fulfil our obligations. The Accounts department is willing to share the expense as it has done with the leader of the Parliamentary Party,” the letter maintained.
