ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, said that Allah Almighty has blessed Pakistan with the honor of serving as guardians of the two holy mosques out of all the Muslim countries.
Addressing the National Ulema Conference, the army chief highlighted Pakistan’s ideological foundations, national unity, and the role of religious leadership in guiding society.
Field Marshal said that the State of Pakistan and the State of Tayyiba [Saudi Arabia] share a deep and historic relationship, adding that the defence agreement between the two nations reflects this enduring bond.
Emphasizing the importance of knowledge, the Army Chief said that nations that abandon education and the pen fall into chaos, disorder, and corruption. He stressed that honor and strength come not through division, but through hard work and knowledge.
Moreover, Field Marshal Asim Munir declared that terrorism belongs to India, not Pakistan, stating that the Pakistan Army faces its enemies openly and does not resort to underhanded tactics.
The military commander added that in an Islamic state, no individual or group has the authority to declare jihad; only the state can do so. He said the “Marka-e-Haq” was won with the help of Allah. He urged religious scholars to play their role in keeping the nation united and strengthening public awareness.
