MIRPUR: Chief Justice of Supreme Court Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Saeed Akram Khan has laid the foundation stone of the new building of the Supreme Court Circuit Mirpur.

As per the details, the project will be constructed on an area of ​​12 kanals at a cost of Rs 873 million and is expected to be completed in three years.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by high-rank judicial personalities of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the legal community, government officers, and distinguished guests.  The Chief Justice of the High Court also attended the inauguration ceremony.

The Physical Planning and Housing Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir will supervise the project and will be completed with modern construction methods so that a quality and effective facility can be provided for the judiciary.

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan said that the new building is being constructed keeping in mind the needs of the judiciary so that the public can get better legal facilities.

He added that this project will prove to be an important milestone in aligning judicial affairs with modern requirements.

In his speech, the Chief Justice thanked all the distinguished guests including the Chief Justice of the High Court and the legal community, and expressed the hope that the project will be completed on time, which will enable judicial affairs to be carried out in a better manner.

The legal community present at the ceremony expressed happiness over this important development and said that the new building will prove to be helpful in the speedy and transparent delivery of justice.
