KUALA LUMPUR: India and South Africa are playing in the final of U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 today (Sunday).
The final match will be played at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia on 2 February at 2:30 PM local time. The line-up for the title decider is set as both India and South Africa staged dominant wins in their semi-final matches.
The two sides remained unbeaten during the whole tournament and Bayuemas Oval is likely to witness a thrilling clash between the two sides.
February 3 will be a reserve day on which a possibly incomplete match shall be continued from the scheduled day.
Both sides have been in top form throughout the event, remaining unbeaten in all the matches they have played so far with showcasing dominant and standout performances.
T20 Semi-finals
India overcame England’s challenge with a nine-wicket win in the second semi-final to reserve their berth in the final while South Africa successfully defeated Australia with a comprehensive five-wicket win in the first semi-final. With strong performances from their players, each team is now eyeing on the title.
India are the defending champions, while South Africa aim to claim their first-ever U19 Women’s World Cup victory.
The winner of the title will become the first team to win the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup undefeated.
India is seeking their second successive Women’s U19 T20 World Cup title after beating England by seven wickets in the final of the 2023 edition of the tournament in South Africa.
Led by skipper Niki Prasad, India registered successive wins against West Indies, Sri Lanka, and hosts Malaysia in the group matches before thrashing Bangladesh and Scotland in the Super Six. Indian opener Gongadi Trisha remains the top-scorer in the tournament with 265 runs in six matches at an average of 66.25 and a strike rate of 149.71. She registered her name in the record books in the Super Six clash against Scotland by scoring the first-ever century (110* off 59 balls) in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.
