MUZAFFARABAD: A tragedy has occurred in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where a 7th grade student committed suicide in the Hattian Bala Nowgran neighbourhood due to failure in examination.
According to the police officials, the student became hopeless after two years of failing in exams and suffered unbearable anguish.
However, this incident does not stand alone according to research every year more than 10% of students opt for such bizarre step of committing suicide due to the academic stress.
Society also plays a very important role in such incidents as children fear the discriminating reactions of their loved ones and think that their families will not accept their loss and become a victim of monstruous depression which later leads to such immature decisions.
This tragedy serves as a reminder of the tremendous strain students encounter in their academic endeavours as well as the disastrous results of untreated emotional turmoil.
The loss of a young life serves as a sobering reminder of the necessity of resources and supportive networks to assist pupils in overcoming setbacks and disappointment.
It’s critical to start a dialogue about academic pressure, mental health, and the value of creating a safety net for students who are at risk while the community grieves the loss of this young student.
