MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq met the Coordinator of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Sardar Yasir Ilyas, on Thursday to discuss the development in the tourism sector, especially in Azad Kashmir.
During the meeting, it was agreed to move forward through comprehensive planning, coordinated strategy, and joint action plan to promote tourism in Azad Kashmir and provide a conducive environment for domestic and foreign investors in this regard.
Notably, Sardar Yasir Ilyas, a well-known businessman and CEO of Centaur Mall, has recently joined the Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), on which he has been given the responsibility of Coordinator for Tourism.
On the other hand, Yasir Ilyas’ brother and former Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas has joined the PPP and is also busy meeting his colleagues these days.
Sardar Tanveer Ilyas had recently met former President Raja Zulqarnain Khan, who belongs to Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq’s constituency, which was being considered important.
Raja Zulqarnain’s family has been supporting Chaudhry Anwarul Haq in the elections.
Earlier, A crucial meeting of the Azad Kashmir cabinet was held on Tuesday evening, chaired by Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq.
The meeting comes after police employees’ protests and the disqualification of government minister Sardar Mir Akbar.
The cabinet likely made significant decisions regarding police employees’ demands, which led to a strike in Azad Kashmir. The government had assured to fulfill their demands within two days.
The cabinet also strategized on the implications of Sardar Mir Akbar’s disqualification, and unanimous resolutions were passed during the meeting, addressing various issues.
According to the government’s press information department, Senior Minister Col. Retired Waqar Noor, Finance Minister Abdul Majid Khan, and Law Minister Mian Abdul Waheed will brief the media about the cabinet decisions today, July 23.
The meeting was attended by the IG Azad Kashmir and other high-ranking officials.
