“Iqbal’s philosophy still guides us”, PM Azad Kashmir pays tribute to Allama Iqbal on death anniversary

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): On the anniversary of his death Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq of Azad Jammu and Kashmirs (AJK) honored Dr Allama Iqbal with meaningful tribute.

Through his message the Prime Minister paid high tribute to Iqbal recognizing his status as a great poet and philosopher who also provided spiritual and intellectual guidance to the Muslims living throughout the subcontinent.

Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the great-known Shair-e-Mashriq (poet of the East) was born on November 9th, 1877. He is known to be the one of greatest philosophers of the 20th century. Iqbal envisioned a dream powerful enough to reshape the geography of the region where he witnessed his people in distress and despair.

The well-respected, phenomenal poet died on April 21st, leaving behind a legacy and a path for Muslims with fiery passion to follow.

He said that Allama Iqbal, also known as the Poet of the East and a proud son of Kashmir, played a key role in awakening the Muslim community. According to the Prime Minister, Iqbal was not just a literary figure, but a visionary political leader whose thoughts inspired a new direction and identity for Muslims, ultimately leading to the creation of Pakistan.

Highlighting Iqbal’s Kashmiri roots, the Prime Minister noted that Allama Iqbal expressed the feelings and hopes of the people of Kashmir through his writings and poetry. He added that Iqbal’s philosophy gave a strong intellectual foundation to the Kashmir freedom movement, which continues to resonate with the people of the region.

The Prime Minister further said that Allama Iqbal always regarded the youth as the true strength of the nation. Through his poetry and speeches, Iqbal urged young people to develop high morals, self-confidence, and a thirst for knowledge. He encouraged them to enter the field of action with courage and a strong sense of identity.

According to Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq the complete understanding of Allama Iqbal’s thoughts by today’s youth will transform them into essential builders of an advanced future. The teachings of Iqbal remain eternal as they provide the path for Muslim world progress and dignity and unity.

The Prime Minister emphasized that youth should rekindle their connection with Allama Iqbal’s teachings because his ideas continue lighting the way toward justice and freedom and self-respect.
