One-day holiday announced in AJK colleges on May 24

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Directorate of Higher Education (Colleges), Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), has announced a one-day holiday in all government colleges in connection with the AKCTA 2025 promotional exams for college lecturers.

According to an official notification issued on May 19, 2025, the holiday will be observed on May 24, 2025, to facilitate the smooth conduct of the exams organised by the Azad Kashmir College Teachers Association (AKCTA).

The purpose of the exam is to assess and promote eligible lecturers working in government colleges across the region. The administration has authorised AKCTA to supervise and conduct the process transparently.

The notification has been forwarded to all relevant authorities including the Secretary of Higher Education, AJK. Additionally to the Director General, Audit & Accounts, the Director Colleges of boys and girls both, the President of AKCTA.

This one-day closure is part of efforts to ensure that the promotion process is carried out efficiently without disrupting the regular academic schedule.
