ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The longest flag of Azad Jammu and Kashmir was hoisted today in Islamabad on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren facing oppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The longest flag was hoisted on the federal capital’s Constitution Avenue by thousands of Kashmiris and Pakistanis under the directives of Former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir and Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan. Islamabad echoed rousing slogans in favor of the Kashmiri people and their struggle for self-determination.
The rally was taken out from the Foreign Office to D-Chowk where several federal ministers including Musaddiq Malik, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and the leadership of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference addressed.
On the occasion, Federal Minister for Petroleum Musadik Masood Malik condemned Indian barbarism and atrocities in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Malik reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to raise its voice against blatant human rights violations in the occupied territory, adding that the Kashmiri people want freedom from India.
Chairman Kashmir Committee Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon called for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions. Deputy Convener APHC AJK Chapter Farooq Rehmani thanked Pakistani leadership and people for always extending firm support to the Kashmiri people.
Chairperson of Peace and Culture Organization Mushaal Hussein Mullick also organized a rally in Islamabad today in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day.
Talking on the occasion, former Special Assistant to AJK PM, Sardar Imtiaz Shaheen, said that the region in Indian occupation will be liberated and part of Pakistan,’ Insha Allah’.
“The slogan ‘We are Pakistan’ by the Quaid-e-Kashmir has been fully appreciated by the entire nation. Kashmir Solidarity Day is a recognition of the eternal relations between Pakistan and the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
The rally was taken out from the Foreign Office to D-Chowk, where several government officials.
People belonging to different walks of life including students, journalists, and government employees, participated in the rally and raised slogans in support of the Kashmiri people.
