Gambling crackdown: Thothal police arrest 3 suspects, recovers valuable items

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The Thotal police station, under the leadership of SI Naveed Atif, conducted a successful raid at a gambling den, arresting three suspects at Dera Shahzad Sangot.

According to the details, the police also recovered 22,500 gambling money, 12 motorcycles, and three male hens from the suspects.

According to the police spokesperson, the raid was conducted on the orders of SSP Mirpur Khawar Ali Shaukat. The police arrested the three main suspects on the spot while the other gamblers fled from the scene on the arrival of the police.

The suspects identified as Bilal Arshad, Abdul Shafiq Aaqum Jat, were residents of Mohro Dolo Mirpur whereas, the third gambler identified as Azeem Ali Khan Qaum Butt, is the resident of Tube Well No. 1 Sangot Mirpur.

A case has been registered and an investigation has been initiated to curb the gambling practices in the region.

SSP Mirpur Khawar Ali Shaukat congratulated the Thothal police station on their successful operation and also issued instructions for the immediate tracing and arrest of other unknown accused.
