ISLAMABAD: These past few weeks have not been good for jingoist Indian users as Indian media has reported that Field Marshal Asim Munir is reportedly scheduled to visit Washington, DC, for the 250th US Army Day celebrations on June 14.

COAS Asim Munir is scheduled to visit Washington on June 14, CNN-News18 reported, citing sources.

Following the recent clashes between India and Pakistan, Indian media reported that Pakistan had been isolated and alone by the international community.

However, since then, much to the chagrin of the Indian government, Pakistan has successfully internationalised the Kashmir dispute, attained credible conventional deterrence by shooting down Indian jets, and rallied the support of major world powers, including China and Turkey.

Today, the US State Department’s Tammy Bruce, while talking to a reporter, reiterated President Donald Trump’s resolve to work on the Kashmir dispute.

This development became further resolute after the US State Department spokesperson stated, “[Trump] has been the only one to bring certain people to the table to have conversations that nobody thought were possible.”

“It shouldn’t surprise anyone that he’d want to manage something like that,” said Bruce.

Former Indian Army officer and astute analyst has commented on the latest development at the US invitation to the Field Marshal Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Syed Asim Munir to the United States, saying, “I am not surprised by the news. Under him, the Pakistan military has proved its counterterror credentials to the US.”

“And also under him, Pakistan military led by PAF has shown to the world that it is a peer competitor of Indian military #OperationSindoor Time for @INCIndia. MPs who were part of the government’s All Party delegations to 22 nations (most of which were inconsequential), to know this!”
