MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Forum France, condemned the spread of alcohol and drugs in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a conspiracy by the Indian government to mislead Kashmiri youth and urging the UN to take action against ongoing oppression.
Since his roles as Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Forum France a member of PML-N Central Working Committee and former Coordinator to Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir for Europe Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar delivered a powerful condemnation of rising alcohol and drug availability throughout occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
These actions violate the cultural and religious values of the region he stated while calling them un-Islamic and unethical practices in his statement. He said that the Indian tourists were welcome to see occupied Jammu and Kashmir but he explicitly advised them against public alcohol consumption. For the safeguarding purpose of the territory’s cultural roots and traditional aspects, he suggested everyone assume personal responsibility.
Drugs and alcohol propaganda work as a secret plot to fool the Kashmiri youth and dissolve moral values in the region according to his assessment. The Jammu and Kashmir State President described Indian government actions as deliberate attacks against Islamic principles which threaten Kashmiri social peace.
During his address, Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar emphasized that India’s suppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has taken the form of unlawful killings, unlawful detentions and job terminations and unauthorized land confiscation. The speaker asked the United Nations to investigate continuing human rights violations that India regularly commits in the area.
He confirmed that India’s attempts to alter the population statistics of Jammu and Kashmir will not succeed years down the road. He criticised the cancellation of Articles 370 and 35A, stating that this move was intended to prolong India’s illegal occupation of the region.
He maintained that permanent peace in South Asia cannot happen until UN resolutions together with the Kashmiri people’s aspirations guide a solution to the Kashmir dispute. Through his address, the speaker urged all international entities to act as witnesses for Kashmiri’s suffering while joining forces to establish peace and stability in the area.
