LONDON (Kashmir English): Bushra Ansari, Pakistan’s veteran artist, has been honoured with Star of Pakistan Award in a prestigious ceremony held at the UK Parliament.
By having been recognized, she became the first Pakistani female drama actor to receive such a recognition. The ceremony was organised in a committee room of the Parliament.
MP Yasmin Qureshi gave award to the artist. Qureshi hosted the event organised by Samara Events UK and the British Asian Society.

The actress was recognised for her excellent talent showcased in Pakistani dramas and her commitment to the industry.
After receiving the award, the famous artist highlighted the role of Pakistani dramas in promoting the country’s traditional attire, culture, and the Urdu language in the United Kingdom and across the globe.
Ansari also expressed her gratitude for the recognition as she dedicated the achievement to the artists and storytellers who have worked tirelessly to represent Pakistan’s rich heritage on the international platform.
“It is a privilege to receive this honour in such a prestigious setting.”
The actor also took to her Instagram to express joy at the success.
“So happy to receive the honour at British parliament today! Thank you God,” she wrote.
Ansari started her career as a child star in the 1960s. She worked in many films as well as dramas. Later she emerged to be an all-rounder of the Pakistani showbiz industry as she performed the roles from comedy, singing, hosting to serious acting.
Artists, community leaders, and admirers of the veteran actor, A Haq Chairman British Asian Society, Maria Soraya, MP Afzal Khan, and Amal Hafiez were also among the notable attendees.
The event featured speeches from dignitaries who lauded Ansari’s decades-long career.
Towards the end of the ceremony, tribute was also paid to Bushra Ansari’s legacy as one of Pakistan’s most celebrated and influential artists.
