NEELUM (Kashmir English): The annual elections of the District Bar Association Neelum in Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir, have been completed, in which an interesting and tough competition was seen on various seats.
According to the polling results Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Basharat Ahmed Mir Advocate won the presidential seat, while Pakistan Muslim League Noon’s (PML-N) candidate Yousuf Mir Advocate won the general secretary seat.
Moreover, Romana Shabbir Malik Advocate won the seat of Library Secretary, which is an important manifestation of women’s participation in the Bar Association elections.
According to the details, a total of 49 votes were cast in the elections and all the votes were polled. There was a close contest between PTI candidates for the presidential seat, where Basharat Ahmed Mir Advocate won by getting 24 votes, while his opponent PTI’s Syed Asim Kazmi Advocate got 22 votes.
Additionally, PML-N’s supported candidate Abdul Samood Awan Advocate could get only 3 votes. On the other hand, PML-N’s candidate Yousuf Mir Advocate won the general secretary seat by getting 22 votes, while other candidates failed.
