MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, has hailed the sacrifices of the Pakistani armed forces deployed along the Line of Control (LoC), stating that they are writing a new chapter in history by safeguarding the territorial integrity and democratic rights of the people of AJK.
In an interview with a private news channel, the AJK premier warned that India was actively conspiring to create disorder in the liberated territory. He claimed these actions aimed to weaken the deep-rooted cultural, political, and religious bonds between the people of Kashmir and Pakistan. He emphasized his government’s dedication to counteract any such harmful plans which he declared will never achieve success.
The Prime Minister cautioned that India remains in a critical state due to its continuous repression of human and political rights that has reached “all records of barbarism and brutality.” He also expressed disappointment that certain intellectuals fail to differentiate between occupying forces and those protecting peace.
He maintained that the presence of the Pakistan army in AJK guarantees peace and the safety of its citizens. Without their presence, he said, the situation in AJK would have mirrored the deteriorating conditions on the other side of the LoC. He reaffirmed that the Kashmiri people’s liberation struggle continues to enjoy the full support of both the AJK government and the state of Pakistan.
On education, he noted that each division now hosts two to three universities. Upon assuming office, he said, the federal grant for universities had stopped, but his government provided billions in grants, supported medical colleges, and rationalised the system.
He also detailed initiatives including an interest-free loan scheme to combat unemployment, a social protection fund for the underprivileged, and a crackdown on mafias to benefit the common people. The Prime Minister concluded by emphasising that his government had prioritised unity and honesty, enabling significant progress in sectors like health and education, and vowed to continue taking revolutionary steps for public welfare.
