MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Kashmir government has officially directed the Accounts Department to increase the monthly salary of contingent paid employees from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 37,000.
In a letter written to the Accounts Department, the Finance Department has stated that the revised salary amount has been uploaded in the SAP system in accordance with the relevant notification.
The department has been instructed to ensure payments are made as per the new rates without delay.
The letter further added that the additional expenditure will be incorporated into the revised budget for the fiscal year 2025–26.
The salary hike is expected to provide much-needed financial relief to hundreds of low-grade contractual employees serving across various departments in Azad Kashmir.
