MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Following an online fraud with police officials, the Superintendent of Police Traffic Muzaffarabad has directed cops to remain vigilant against online scammers.

The announcement came a day after various cases of online fraud and trap involving police officials came into light.

As per details, the cops transferred lakhs of rupees to scammers from local retail shops after they received a call under the guise of Assistant Commissioner Muzaffarabad.

Following the incidents, the Superintendent Traffic Police Muzaffarabad Chaudhry Atta Muhammad took strict notice and issued instructions to the police officials of all Azad Kashmir districts to take such immediate action against such sam calls.

The message sent to district police officials stated that for the last few days, police officials have received phone calls in which huge amounts of money were withdrawn by trapping them in the name of any senior officers.

The message added that the entire system is an online fraud to rob citizens.

Suprendenetianet instructed the police force that if any officer receives a call, he/she should not take any immediate action, but inform a senior officer.
