MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Prime Minister (PM) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Chaudhary Anwar-ul-Haq has said that the government was working on a reform initiative so as to steer the state towards sustainable development with a primary goal of benefiting general public.

He said this while talking to a delegation from Dadyal led by Minister Communication and Works Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the PM said that serving people of the state was the sole mission of his life.

The range of development projects, he said, was being broadened to include underdeveloped regions, ensuring that areas of the state previously excluded from this initiative could also experience growth.

Referring to the federal government’s financial assistance, he said, “We owe a debt of gratitude to the state of Pakistan that has enabled us to provide electricity and flour to the citizens at lowest possible rates”.

Terming the green flag as a symbol of pride for every Kashmiri, he said that the government would not permit any one whosoever to promote anti-state narrative.

Commenting on various initiatives the incumbent government had taken during the past couple of years, PM Haq said that making biometrics mandatory in the public offices has significantly improved the attendance of government employees.

He also mentioned about the social protection fund that, he said, has been established with a view to provide financial assistance to divorced women, transgenders, orphans, widows, and elderly.

Similarly, the PM hoped that the coalition government’s health package is set to revolutionize the state’s health sector besides providing better treatment facilities to people across the territory.

The visiting delegation appreciated the Prime Minister’s people-friendly policies and initiatives and paid tribute to him for his historic works, according to a press release.
