DUBAI (Kashmir English): India has raised concerns over the venue of the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting scheduled for July 24 in Dhaka, demanding that it be shifted to another location. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has refused to travel to Bangladesh and is reportedly considering pulling out of the meeting altogether.

According to Indian media, the BCCI has objected to the meeting being held in Bangladesh on political grounds. Reports suggest that India does not find it appropriate to visit Bangladesh under the current circumstances, and has formally submitted a request to the ACC for a change in venue.

This is not the first instance of such an issue. The Indian cricket board had previously postponed a series that was scheduled to take place in Bangladesh in August. Indian media claims that due to rising political tensions between India and Bangladesh, the Modi government has halted cricket tours to the country.

Furthermore, Indian media reports that if the venue is not changed, the BCCI may boycott the meeting. Sources say India has also proposed the UAE as an alternative host for the upcoming Asia Cup, suggesting cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

Sources also reveal that the BCCI is currently awaiting government approval to participate in the Asia Cup. If the approval is not granted, there’s a possibility of organizing a multi-nation tournament during the same window.

According to international media reports, India’s uncertain stance on playing against Pakistan has raised questions over the future of the Asia Cup. As per the proposed schedule, the tournament is set to begin on September 5, with the much-anticipated Pakistan vs India match scheduled for September 7.
