LEEPA VALLEY (Kashmir English): A significant landslide on the Reshian-Leepa Road has brought all vehicular movement to a standstill, cutting off the main route leading to the picturesque Leepa Valley.

The landslide occurred earlier today, rendering the road completely inaccessible to all types of traffic. As a result, long queues of vehicles have formed on both sides of the affected section, leaving commuters and travellers stranded in the area. Many have been forced to wait for hours in challenging conditions, with no immediate alternative route available.

Several passengers at the airport site revealed their growing anger about the sudden flight delay which caused the situation to become dangerous and disorganized. The emergency blockade causes transportation problems for some travelers and creates food and water availability issues along with shelter difficulty for other stranded drivers.

The Roads and Highways Department Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) sent heavy machinery to the affected site for debris removal and access restoration work. A continuous clearing operation is actively underway for the blockage removal by multiple work teams. Recovery operations will depend on multiple factors, including weather patterns and stability levels of the terrain due to the large size of the landslide.

The local administration officials guarantee that teams maintain continuous work to reopen the road at the earliest opportunity. An official from the administration stated that their ground crews are performing clearance work steadily. The public has faced significant problems because we remain fully focused on establishing unobstructed traffic movement without causing a prolonged interruption.

The main highway between Reshian and Leepa Valley serves both local citizens and visitors seeking this picturesque mountain destination because of its beautiful natural surroundings and untamed atmosphere. The route’s operation provides essential connections that cause substantial effects on both community residents and the tourism sector alongside regional transportation activities.

Passengers must exercise calmness because the affected region presents ongoing safety risks that make attempts to circumvent the obstruction dangerous. The situation remains under continuous surveillance by local authorities, who will issue announcements about progress in road clearing and normalization efforts.
