NEELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): As the weather improves, Neelum Valley road restoration has begun, but residents still face hardships due to power outages and communication disruptions.

With the arrival of pleasant weather, road restoration work has commenced in Neelum Valley, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The Roads Department of Neelum has launched an operation to restore the main highway connecting the scenic upper Neelum region from Kel to Taobat. However, despite these efforts, the people of upper Neelum continue to face hardships due to damaged infrastructure.

The inhabitants of upper Neelum still endure multiple difficulties because of deteriorating infrastructure despite all reconstruction work. Extremely harsh winter conditions implemented significant damage to the road system which left various roadways in ruins. The clearing operation with authorities involves repairing damaged sections as well as debris clearance to create smooth travel conditions since the snow began to disappear. The restoration emphasis concentrates on reconstructing the main tourist path which guides travelers to Taobat a well-known natural attraction.

Road rehabilitation has begun but the people living in upper Neelum continue facing multiple obstacles during this time. Residents face power outages because the electricity network remains inoperative as many places sustain extended blackouts. The extreme winter weather destroyed numerous power lines and communication networks across the region so the local residents had no access to vital services.

The authorities recognize the problems with electricity and communication systems and they are working to bring them back online immediately. The general population faces ongoing difficulties because of the interruptions that obstruct their ability to access fundamental living needs.

The Neelum Valley functions as a major destination for domestic and international travellers because it depends substantially on well-kept facilities to uphold tourism and local sustainability. The prolonged restoration period worries the residents alongside the business owners whose livelihoods depend on the tourists visiting Neelum Valley. Several residents worry that delays in road and essential service restoration will result in lost tourist revenue which provides vital revenue for the upcoming season.

The residents of upper Neelum positively anticipate that authorities will hasten their restoration duties to restore normalcy in the affected region. The restoration of roads alongside electricity and communication services will give double benefits to both the local residents and tourism development in the valley.
