MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The 58th death anniversary of the former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Mirwaiz Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Shah, was observed with great devotion, respect, and ideological enthusiasm.
On the occasion, Kashmiris on on both sides of the state of Jammu and Kashmir renewed their pledge that the unwavering struggle of the late leader will continue until the last Kashmiri gains freedom from Indian occupation.
In this regard, a faith-inspiring Quran recitation and Fateha Khawani’ was held at Muhammad Yousaf’s shrine, in which the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Minority, and Auqaf, Ahmed Raza Qadri, PPP leader Shaukat Javed Mir, and Mirwaiz Jamil Yasmin, participated.
Director General Auqaf Sardar Tariq Mahmood, Director Liberation Cell Raja Aslam Khan, along with scholars, teachers and students of religious schools, as well as scholars of all religious schools, participated in large numbers.
They recited the Holy Quran and offered Fateha khaniya for the martyrs of Kashmir, including the late leader, and placed wreaths at the shrine.
On this occasion, Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Ahmed Raza Qadri said that his invaluable services for the upliftment of Islam and the Kashmir freedom movement are a beacon for the nation.
“Today, we resolve that we will continue his eternal sacrifices and struggle for the Kashmir freedom movement until the freedom of Kashmir from the illegal occupation of India,” he said.

Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwarul Haq said that Mirwaiz Kashmir Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Shah and his family rendered invaluable services to keep the Kashmiri people connected to the religion of Islam and to bring them the blessings of freedom.
In his message on the death anniversary of Mirwaiz, the Prime Minister said that he was a true sympathizer and leader of the Kashmiri people, who not only enlightened them with Islamic teachings but also taught them the lesson of unity and solidarity.
He said that Mirwaiz, along with highlighting the Kashmir issue at the global level, also took a deep interest in the construction and development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. By visiting Islamic countries, he highlighted the Kashmir issue at the international level and drew the attention of the international community to the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people.
The translation of the Holy Quran into Kashmiri is a golden chapter in his scholarly services that will be remembered till the Day of Judgment.
He dedicated his life to the freedom movement and the accession of Pakistan, along with teaching, religious, social, and spiritual services, and this was the main focus of his struggle.
