MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Food Authority has seized a large quantity of substandard juices during the operation at Kohala post in Muzaffarabad district, an entry point into Azad Kashmir.
The food authority launched a major operation against substandard food items and daily use products in collaboration with the Kohala Police Post.
According to the officials, the food authority set up a blockade at Kohala post and seized juice transported in substandard plastic containers, violating the AJK Food Authority Act 2017 and Pure Food Regulations 2019.
The seized juice products lacked proper labeling, ingredients, company name, and date, raising concerns about their safety and quality. The Food Authority has initiated an investigation into the matter and issued a notice to the distributor.
District Food Controller/Food Safety Officer Muzaffarabad, Abrar Ahmad Mir, assured that operations would continue to protect citizens from substandard food.
