RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Security forces have neutralised 14 India-backed terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Basima district in Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release on Tuesday.
According to the military’s media wing, intelligence reports were received regarding the presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy, Fitna Al Hindustan, in the Naal area of District Basima.
The terrorists were reportedly planning to attack a nearby police station and banks in the area, the ISPR said.
After receiving the information, the security forces launched an intelligence-based operation to thwart the nefarious designs of the terrorists, the press release stated, adding that the movement of terrorists was effectively checked and engaged by troops.
The intense firing resulted in the killing of fourteen terrorists, while multiple terrorists were injured. Four vehicles being used by the terrorists and improvised explosive devices were also destroyed on the spot, it said.
“However, during the intense fire exchange, one brave son of the soil, Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbass, having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat.”
It added, “Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the area.”
“Relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.”
