MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Law enforcement agencies conducted a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Chehla area of Muzaffarabad, arresting five Raw backed agents linked to anti-state activities, according to sources.
During the targeted operation, authorities recovered laptops, mobile phones, and other communication devices from the possession of the arrested individuals. Initial investigations reportedly revealed suspicious links connected to digital devices and sensitive material.
Sources said that further investigation led to the recovery of a large cache of weapons after the identification of one of the suspects. The seized arsenal included seven automatic weapons, several grenades, and other war-related materials.
Investigators also recovered maps of sensitive installations, alleged attack plans, and documents related to strategic locations. Evidence suggesting possible contacts with hostile intelligence agencies has also become part of the ongoing investigation, sources added.
Forensic and technical analysis of the recovered electronic devices and documents is currently underway. Authorities are examining potential facilitators, sources of financial support, and the wider network allegedly connected to the suspects.
According to sources, the timely operation helped avert potential threats to sensitive installations and ensured public safety. Law enforcement agencies reiterated that any activity threatening state security, public order, or national interests would not be tolerated.
Officials stated that strict legal action would be taken against all individuals found involved in activities detrimental to national security. The public has also been urged to immediately report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
Investigations are continuing from all possible angles to uncover the full scope of the alleged network, sources said.
