Indian Sikh Yatrees arrive in Pakistan tomorrow

LAHORE (Kashmir English): Sikh Yatrees from India will arrive in Pakistan tomorrow (Wednesday) through the Wagah Border to participate in religious rituals related to the martyrdom day of Guru Arjan Dev.

The Yatrees will visit several gurdwaras across Punjab, including Nankana Sahib, Sacha Sauda in Farooqabad, Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal, Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Narowal, and Rohri Sahib in Eminabad, Gujranwala.

The main Sikh event will be held at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore on 16th of this month. The Yatrees will return to their homeland on June 19.

The Pakistani government has issued 1,000 visas to Sikh Yatrees on this occasion.

Indian Sikh Yatrees frequently travel to Pakistan to visit their sacred religious sites facilitated through specific religious tourism protocols.

Pilgrims are allowed to observe important annual festivals and anniversaries in Pakistan.

The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi regularly issues hundreds to thousands of visas for Indian Sikhs depending on the festival.

Pilgrims primarily arrive in Pakistan via the Wagah Border crossing.

Travelers typically spend several days visiting a circuit of highly revered Gurdwaras across Punjab.

Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib (Birthplace of Guru Nanak), Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal, Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, Gurdwara Dera Sahib and Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib in Lahore, the Kartarpur Corridor are the traditional pilgrimages sites.
