Mirpur Admin fixes butchers’ wages for Eid-ul-Adha

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The administration of Mirpur city in Azad Jammu and Kashmir has fixed the official wages for butchers for slaughtering sacrificial animals and cutting and preparing meat in view of the religious festival of Eid-ul-Adha.

A formal notification in this regard has been issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Price Control Committee Mirpur.

According to the official notification, in the Mirpur sub-division, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, butchers’ wages have been fixed in two different categories based on the weight of goats, sheep, and other small animals.

Butchers’ wages

As per the notification, a wage of Rs3000 has been set for small animals weighing up to 25kg, and Rs3500 per animal for weighing up to 40kg.

On the other hand, for slaughtering cows, oxen, and other large animals and preparing their meat, three different slabs have been created based on weight.

According to the official price list, the wage for a large animal weighing up to 2 maunds is Rs8000, for an animal weighing up to 3.5 maunds is Rs10000, and for a large animal weighing more than 3.5 maunds, the official wage has been fixed at Rs12000 per animal.

Complaint Cell for Eid-ul-Adha

The Assistant Commissioner and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mirpur has clarified that strict legal action will be taken against butchers who charge more than the fixed rates during Eid days.
