KARACHI (Kashmir English): The Sindh government has announced a revised Eid-ul-Azha holiday schedule. The Government of Sindh has issued a new notification about Eid-ul-Azha holidays.
According to the notification, the Eid holidays have been cut down a bit, from four days to only three days. Meaning, public holidays all over the province will be observed on May 26, 27, and 28.
Meanwhile, during those holidays, all government offices, autonomous bodies, and semi-autonomous institutions will remain closed.
Though the departments that handle essential services will keep on working, across the whole holiday span as usual. The notification also mentioned that all government offices will reopen on Friday, May 29.
Punjab Eid-ul-Azha Holidays
The Punjab government has announced three Eid-ul-Azha holidays across the province from May 26 to 28.
According to the official notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department, the residents across Punjab will enjoy three-day holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
“It is notified for general information that 26th, 27th, and 28th May, 2026 (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) shall be observed as Public Holidays in the Province of Punjab on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha,” the notification reads.
Earlier, the KP govt announced four public holidays in relation to Eid-ul-Azha. These public holidays will be observed from Tuesday, May 26, to Friday, May 29, and on those days, government offices and educational institutions shall be closed in the province.
It has been stated in a notification released by the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that government offices and educational institutions shall remain closed on the days of public holiday.
However, departments that are responsible for emergency and rescue services will continue to operate as per their usual routine.
