ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has paid tribute to the sacrifices rendered by the oppressed people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The AJK PM made these remarks during a condolence meeting in Islamabad. He visited the residence of APHC-AJK leader Altaf Ahmed Bhat to offer condolences on the demise of his mother, who passed away last month in Srinagar, IIOJK.

Speaking on the occasion, Rathore said the unresolved Kashmir dispute has caused immense suffering for Kashmiris, leaving countless families separated from their loved ones and deprived of sharing moments of grief and happiness together.

Ground realities in occupied Kashmir

He stated that the prevailing ground realities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir should be enough to awaken the conscience of the international community, adding the territory has been turned into a military garrison where peace and normalcy no longer exist.

Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said that lasting peace in South Asia is linked to a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

At the conclusion of the visit, the AJK-PM expressed deep sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty Allah grants the departed soul eternal peace and gives strength to the family to bear the loss.
